Drawing Palm Trees

When I moved to Arizona from California I started drawing a series of palm trees. These trees are scattered throughout the Phoenix and Tuscon areas. They are remarkable survivors that somehow manage to endure the hot temperatures of the desert summers. The shade they provide gives solace to both "man and beast" when the thermometer reaches well beyond 100 degrees. I have drawn and painted these trees generally from close proximity. The interest is in the details.
